We know that printing cards is intrinsically not the most sustainable activity around, but we are still keen to make sure that as we grow our business we do so using good sustainable thinking and practice: understanding and managing our ecological footprint intelligently throughout the process of designing, producing and selling our cards and prints.

This is a big challenge for a little company!

To help make it manageable we are using the One Planet Living (OPL) aims to focus our thinking. These are a simple set of ten aims or principles promoted by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and BioRegional as a mechanism to help anyone look at their own life, at home and work, to identify practical steps they can take towards a more sustainable lifestyle.
  • Zero carbon: being energy efficient
  • Zero waste: reducing, reusing, recycling
  • Sustainable transport: reducing dependence on the car
  • Sustainable materials: buying recycled and sustainable products
  • Local and sustainable food: using more local, seasonal and organic food
  • Sustainable water: cutting back on water usage
  • Natural habitats and wildlife: leaving space for local wildlife
  • Culture and heritage: using the best of the old alongside the best of the new
  • Equity and fair trade: local jobs and fair international trading
  • Health and happiness: the simple things in life are footprint free!

Over time we will add a short paragraph under each OPL aim setting out the challenges we have identified, and how we are responding.
