jane ducker is an artist based on the Lands End peninsula, Cornwall, and is currently responsible for all the designs used by wild duck designs. As well as painting, Jane can also be seen doing quick portraits in St Ives during the season - so if you have had your portrait drawn whilst holidaying in Cornwall it might have been by Jane!
paul ducker is Jane's brother and the other half of wild duck designs. To make up for a singular lack of any artistic talent, Paul is responsible for things like the web site and keeping the books. Paul lives in London.
printing of recent wild duck designs cards and prints is by Monkey Puzzle, specialist printers near Truro, Cornwall. wild duck designs prints are printed on Enhanced Archival Matte 192gsm using the Giclee process. Giclee, pronounced 'gee-clay', literally translates as 'to spray'. The term was first used in printing to describe early high-quality machines that sprayed fine layers of colour to gradually build up the image. Today's ink technology and precision print heads combine to give even better results with more fade-resistance: Giclee prints typically have a life span of 75 years. More information about the Giclee printing process can be found in the Giclee Printing page on Wikipedia.
sustainability is important to wild duck designs. We are seeking to build the business with good sustainability practice at its core using the 10 principles of One Planet Living as a guide. Once we have got our act together we intend to add a page dedicated to explaining how we will make sure wild duck designs develops sustainably and, just as importantly, reflect on how we are doing.
